Description of the BeAM Magic 3D printer
BeAM Magic is an industrial installation for additive manufacturing using CLAD technology. CLAD (Construction Laser Additive Directe - "direct laser additive manufacturing") is a type of laser melting developed by the French company Irepa Laser for the needs of the aerospace industry. Unlike traditional laser melting, CLAD sprays molten metal onto finished layers of the part, rather than drawing a new layer in the substrate. To achieve flexibility in building three-dimensional models, the working head can rotate in two planes, applying new layers not only from above, but also from the sides.
